DRY/BEAD BLASTING
We use our Dry Blast cabinet when items require paint and corrosion removal from the surface. Dry Blasting also known as Bead Blasting, or Grit Blasting is used to clean ferrous metals such as iron and steel as well as paint and rust removal, leaving an ideal clean surface in preparation for painting. The abrasive nature of dry blasting lightly etches the cleaned surface leaving a dull matt textured finish ideal for keying paintwork.
All items should be reasonably degreased and any seals, roller, or ball bearings removed. Heavily painted items (such as Marine) may require paint stripping before starting the dry blasting process, which can be done at an additional cost.

Disclaimer
After Dry Blasting all items will be thoroughly cleaned and inspected to ensure residual media removal. However, we cannot guarantee that there will not be any media residue left. It is the responsibility of each customer to check over their components before reassembly commences.
After the Blasting process components are prone to corrosion and oxidation which leads to deterioration of the the final finish over time. We can treat the vapour blasted items with an inhibitor (ACF-50) if requested to prevent and delay deterioration.
The cleaning process can reveal defects such as stress fractures - FWD Vapour Blasting cannot accept responsibility for pre-existing damage revealed during the cleaning process
